Every year, they must be close to at least one and a half thousand crores or so easily going into the acquisition of movie soundtracks,. And of course, a massive chunk on marketing and promotion. All that is built into the price, the music label charges the streaming platforms. But isn't this a one-time cost? Once a movie and its songs are produced, they are there forever. There's no recurring cost. Why do music labels hike charges every time the contract is renewed?
