The idea that Russia and China are very similar, the idea that they both quote unquote malign has become so normalized in Washington DC. I think it's startling for people who don't have a lot of exposure to African opinions to realize that Africans don't feel this way. What was unfortunate though, was that while the Nigerian media covered us in Banjo's comments in great detail, not a single UK publication mentioned it. So again, it has this tree in the forest falling effect. But these media narratives, in many respects, Cobus are durable because people don't hear anything outside of their own feedback loops.
