The Indirect Anagolabulin Test for Pre-Transfusion Testing
The, the anagolabulin test that we use in pre-transfusion testing is actually an indirect anagolABulin test. The problem is we can't visualize IgG antibody. If we just centrifuge the red cells like we do with an ABO, it won't get any kind of clumping or aggludination. We have to add the anti-human globulin reagent or what many people slang call the Coombs reagent to determine if there is IgG antibody that bound to the screening cells.
