The Death of Haley Newdson

Newdson had already suffered dozens of broken bones from breaking in horses and helping out on the ranch. The spot on his head where the lightning-made contact took years to heal. Newdson's memory had been almost entirely wiped, including his knowledge of how to perform basic skills. He says he never let himself get to a low point with any injury because once you're down there "it's a much longer ride to get back to the top"
