Cleomines and the Delphiic Priest

Leotakitis tried to prove that Demaratus was not the son of Ariston, and therefore an illegitimate king. Cleomines bribed a Delphiic priest named Cobon who made the pronouncement for him. Leotokitis became the next Yuri-Pontid king, ruling from 491 to 476 BC. With Demaratus out of the way, Cleomines was now free to do as he pleased. He attempted to organize the Arcadians and hellots against Spartan oligarchy. However, fearing what could happen, the Spartans invited him back.
