Decision Heuristics in the Climbing Community
In retrospect, I don't know if our decision making process was flawed. It's really hard to parse out what's motivating your decision in either direction. As people who go into wild places like this with objectives in mind, you have a drive to do those and it can be difficult to step back and weigh the gravity of the whole situation. And there's a great book on decision heuristics called Thinking Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman that is in line in the library to reread.
