The History of Daoism
From the second century onwards, we develop a multitude of different organized forms of Daoism which could differ very drastically from each other. The only thing that they all had in common was a certain connection to these early texts like the Dao De Jing and so on. Some of these figures like Lao Tzu became viewed as deities or gods and were given significant roles in the cosmology and metaphysics of the religion. It also includes elaborate rituals performed by a class of priests with offerings and music among many other things.
