How to Weave Two Narratives Together in a Novel

I think something that can be really challenging to pull off in any book doesn't matter the length, is when you have two narratives. And how you weave them together is such a finesse and it seems like craft-wise that it's really hard to do. I'm just curious about your effort to do that and if you saw that all at once or if it just came to you organically through the writing? Well, thank you for, you know, the generous comments. I think that I probably conjured up Digby at a later point in the story and Digby, of course, needed a back story.
