Introduction
Kevin Clark, Assistant Professor of Sacred Scripture at St. Patrick's Seminary: Revelation means a kind of unveiling or a kind of self-disclosure. In the case of public revelation, God is revealing himself to the church and it is the church as a whole that is the recipient of that revelation. But private revelation does not impose upon us this the same kind of ascent of faith that public revelation does.
