Kant's Antithesis to Marxism

Kant radically upended empiricism and rationalism. For Kant what is merely apparent to the senses is only partially cognizable since it cannot be fully known. He posits this incognizable residue that resists all efforts at knowledge. But there remains a residue of an unknowable, wind judgments of perception are brought under the categories and transformed into judgments of experience. This is what is called the Kantian thing in itself.
