The Importance of Optimism in Philosophy
Peter Bergen: I know what it's like to discover a thinker that kind of blows your world apart and your optimism was really over the top. And so of course, with a little bit of prodding, I eventually got into reading Deutsch. At some point in time, I'm going to return to reading the beginning of infinity and fabric of reality in actual book form because that will help me a great deal. But Deutsch, as far as my estimate of the man and his mind, I rate him very highly.
