The Origins of Article 295A of the Indian Constitution
Section 295A deals with deliberate and malicious acts intended to out-range religious feelings of any class by insulting its religious or religious beliefs. It is punishable with imprisonment, which may extend to two years, or with fine with both. The provision was introduced after Swami Shraddhanan undertook the reconversion of the Malkana Rajputs back to Hindu fold in 1924.
