Nominating a Republican Senator

The chair of the Judiciary Committee, Senator Dick Durbin, seems reluctant to make any changes even with more nominees at each hearing. He said that he's reserved the right to potentially move forward with the nominee in the future if he feels that a Republican senator or a senator is objecting to a nominee outside of their merits. So we've already seen one nominee who, the blue slip role prevented their nomination for moving forward and kind of ended up ending their nomination.
