Monitoring Complex Systems Is a Major Enemy for Google

Google has a team of up to 12 people monitoring their systems. That's about 10% of the company's work force, which is "crazy," says Kendall. The head count for that group will be reduced from two to one as Google improves its system and centralizes data sharing.
