The Different Perceptions of the Chinese Industry in Africa

Zambia has a very different view about the Chinese, especially this particular mine. The same kind of negative perceptions also appear when other global private mines and construction companies violate labor laws or make some mistakes with their taxation. In Africa, people have more varied perceptions and varied opinions about these companies because they are more cognizant of their different behavior. But in the West, we are not interested in these scandals. These scandals are not reported in the major news media. And so we don't change our perception as realistically as those in Africa.
