APIs and Enterprise Architecture

I think yes from the standpoint of APIs are very important they need to be well designed with the you know consumer experience user experience in in mind. What concerns me is when people hear API first and they're already strongly intoAPI then they start to say that what that means is that enterprise architecture gets to decide what everybody in the company's services look like. That is so short-sighted, I mean it reminds me of the sort of the canonical data model euphoria of the mid-2000s as well right around that time.
