Irish and Scottish Gaelic

Irish is a Celtic language. It has written sources going back to the 8th century. We're looking at a language that's been in a state of development on this island, at least, for some two thousand years. For example, how it's spoken in the northern province of Ulster,. is incredibly close to Scottish Gaelic - which is only a few short miles across the sea to Scotland. The Irish and the Scottish have been seafaring people for at least a couple of thousands years. Not surprising that we find shared heritage and shared identity and language as a key part of that.
