CASA Maritime Surveillance Aircraft for the Irish Air Corps

The first of two CASA, or what used to be CASA, C295 Maritime Surveillance Aircraft from Airbus Defense and Space touched down at Casement Aerodrome on the 27th of June. This was acquired through a $252 million dollar contract signed back in December of 2019 with the new aircraft replacing two C235s that are already in service with the Irish Air Corps. Dublin also last December ordered a single CN295 and a tactical transport configuration for approximately €59 million. That aircraft will support tactical activities by Special Operations Forces.
