In the song's first two minutes, 11 pop deities take a verse. Sting who shares his verses with Le Bon and spandau ballets Tony Hadley. The verses change cadence enough times that it's actually difficult to picture one person singing all of the parts. Finally, after almost two full minutes have elapsed, Paul Young deploys its refrain more than halfway through the song's running time. That refrain is only sung twice on the whole track, a pair of shoals abutting a tiny bridge. Here's to you, here's to them, before the final sing along.
