The downside of building for internal tools is you're close to your customers and you get a lot of feedback. But the danger of that is you can buy easily towards the loudest voices because they're right next to you. The, another big difference is scalability. You have to scale up, scale down, think a lot more rigorously about security policies on an internal tool. They're just different, different kinds of engineering.
