Bernie Sanders' Advantage in the Democratic Primary Election
In 2016, when you had these sort of lower turnout caucuses, Bernie did extremely well because caucuses sort of prioritize organizational capacity. And in every state that conducted a primary in 2020 that had previously conducted a caucus in 2016, Bernie's margins collapsed. Even in the states that he did win, like New Hampshire, in the primary, his margin was cut, I think, more than in half.
