I think the new I guess a set of questions is coming out of this kind of paradigm shift that I've already mentioned. If we stop asking the why did humans do this question and start thinking about it as a gradual process that happened as humans were engaging in these cultivation behaviors then things like seed size increase. And there's been a lot of proposed theories things like burying a seed deeper in the ground when they plant the seeds. That's one theory that has been put out there but there are actually over a dozen different theories. So I think the next step for us as archaeobotanists and also geneticists working in this field collaboratively is to start to narrow down these different theories
