The History of Racism in the United States

The court decided to take the affirmative action cases on the 20 ninth anniversary of justice thurgood marshall's passing. He wrote an extremely powerful opinion in one of the courts first affirmative action cases, on university of california versus baki. And so we wanted to play some clips from his partial concurrence, partial dessent in that case here. The combined actions and inaction of the state and federal governments maintained negroes in a position of legal inferiority for another century. To fail to do so is to ensure that America will remain a divided society.
