Oxycodone: The Friendlier Opioid
OxyContin is made with oxycodone, which is classified as a Schedule II narcotic. It can take years before the U.S. Food and Drug Administration gives approval for any new drug. Purdue leader Richard Sackler knows it's also especially likely FDA regulators are going to take a narrow view of OxyContin.
