The Role of Toleration in Islam

Al-Razali is the first theoretician, as it were, of killing people on religious grounds. He singles out what in his view is Zandaka, clandestine unbelief. With regard to the philosophers, these are three positions which can no longer be tolerated in Islam. Whoever holds this is a clandestine unbeliever and he can be killed if he teaches it to other people.
