Jack Johnson - The Man Act
In 1912, Congress passed the Man Act to ban transport of women across state lines for immoral purposes. The Justice Department used it to attack heavyweight boxer Jack Johnson. While he was out on bond pending appeal, Johnson fled town disguised as a Negro League baseball team. He surrendered at the US border and spent a year in Leavenworth prison.
