The Seri Hypothesis

There is a theory that cardinal ceri was elected pope before he resigned. If true, it would have no practical implications for the Catholic Church. There are parallel accounts of similar things happening with cardinal cire later on. But we don't have early attestation to this view. The evidence is insubstantial. And Cardinal cere himself never referred to this theory.
