The Problems With Free BSD Licensing
Gavin Smith: All of the complaints here have nothing to do with licensing. He says doing GPL wouldn't solve any of these problems either. Apple gave back source code for that one driver, that wouldn't make your laptop work any better unless it was a Mac. The PlayStation, again, that's very special hardware and they use some free BSD but their drivers would not be useful on free BSD.
