The President's Sworn in Ceremony
The pageantry around the swearing in of a new president is an invented tradition. It was started by Martha washington who wanted georgie porge to be more of a king or a lifelong hirtler, like alexander hamilton. Later on we get dolly madison with her famous invitations for political intrigue and so that process just developed further over the year. But i don't think if you ask anybody they can rattle off all their favorite senators and house reps, or their favorite supreme court justices,. it's it's the president they ta, that that really gets people's attention.
