How to Be a Better Rugby Player
We've got more skillful but not necessary more skillful players. We know that skill and expertise are hugely domain specific. It's very difficult to apply a sort of fundamental skill being quick to being quick with a ball and evading evading opponents. Once you get to the point the end of the expertise spectrum that's when you really have to be skillful at playing rugby. And just being generally fundamentally skillful is no longer enough. I think most coaches or practitioners who are listening to this have examples of players who are good movers. They are well coordinated they are quick, fast and strong - but they are not good rugby players.
