Do You Have Lung Cysts?

Lung cysts generally have long time constants. If this patient scuba dives, the cysts will gradually fill with the compressed air breathed at depth. During a scent at the end of the dive, this air may not be able to acculibrate with the ambient pressure. The air and the cyst will expand, potentially escaping the alveoli. Patients with lung cysts are at a high risk for pneumothorax or arembolism if they participate in sc diving.
