How to Treat a Hamstring Tear
With MRI scanning you can actually get a very good image of the sciatic nerve passing through or below the piriformis muscle. We often inject around there with a bit of anti-inflammatory cordicosteroid and that can have a good effect. It's actually quite a safe thing to do we had a in this one's grand final week last year one of our guys had a hamstring tightness on the Thursday before the Saturday grand final and we did piriformis injection and allowed him to play so he got through the game and still played okay.
