The russian forces entered ukraine towards the end of february, they entered on multiple fronts. They met intense kranian resistance and got held up with their own problems supplying their own troops. The fear is that this next phase of the war will be significantly more violent, more ferocious than what we've seen so far. And really, in effect, it woull be a prolonged battle. But this looks like it is the next and final stage of the war.
