Patrick Weimann: Starting around 3,000 years ago, a remarkable series of events and processes began to unfold in the southern Levant. He says an ethnic group emerged from the itinerant shepherds and farmers whose flocks grazed the erred slopes. The worship of a god they called Yahweh was central to those traditions.
