The Problem With Generalized Artificial Intelligence
The chess computers got better at the rate of about 100 rating points a year. They were at 1300 on the USCF scale in 1980 and beat Kasparov with a deep blue in 97. We'd probably beat the top player in the world about maybe eight wins, maybe two draws out of ten games,. It would be basically analogous to extraterrestrials landing on this planet if that were to happen.
