The Disdain for Ritual Patterns
Our ideal of society is not that it is a perfectly static organization founded in the age of the ancestors and to remain unchanging for all time. It is rather of a process moving toward a fulfillment of ideals and possibilities for humanity that have not yet been realized. Each of us is expected to be an initiating center. The problem therefore is not simply to remain on the level of earlier human biology or sociology but to move on to represent a progress forward.
