The Gift of Singleness Isn't Even a Phrase in Scripture.
The gift of singleness is really the phrase that's been coined. It's a contemporary phrase to try and interpret this verse in a particular way. Paul is just saying here, if you are single, you have the gift of singlenas if you are married, you havethe gift of marriage. That means that they can quite happily do life as an unmarried person, not having sex, not being struggling with sexual temptation. This was the view that really i grew up with.
