The American Public Wakes Up to the Harm That's Been Done by Policies

John Avlon: You cite the economist Joseph Schumpeter, who in 1942 produced a book called Capitalism, Socialism and Democracy. He says capitalism contains within itself the very bounty that capitalism produces tends to create the conditions for ideas that tend to thwart capitalism and close it off. Avlon: In spite of our governments, best efforts to destroy that underlying American ethos, our government has failed. And we have an example, much like you had in the 1980s, of a choice to make.Avlon: This is the moment where the American people can speak not as Democrats or Republicans, but as Americans.
