Herculaneum and the Bay of Naples

E. E. Cupp: Herculaneum and pompeii are such immeasurably beautiful works that one's life can't be complete unless one somehow partakeso it. The bay of naples, in terms of natural beauty, is so extraordinarily stunning that even without the work of man, it's worth going there to get the view. She says she was 'horrified' at how much attention had been paid to a roman wall painting as an architectural unit rather than social unit. This led her on to wanting to write a book about roman society and culture at that period.
