Even those organizations which have developed in a rather impressive funding model, like the Guardian used to be loss making,. Now it's got shed loads of members who clearly value what they do. And I don't think it's the case that if anything's funded by a grant, that is bad. But when you've got this story having come out of billionaire funding directly, people should not reading this.
