The Myth of the Picks
The name is probably a Roman name suggesting that they're painted or tattooed. And then in terms of their origins there's various origins about them coming from Ireland and the most fanciful one is them coming from Sithia which is what Bead describes. But every people, every community in late Roman and post-Roman written Ireland had some sort of fanciful origin myth, some more fanciful than others. Again we don't have the picks voice to say what they thought but yeah again it adds to the kind of romance and interest I think in tracing pictureshed origins and trying to understand more about the evolution of that society.
