In Chinese medicine, they describe that the vast majority of psychological and physical illnesses we have are simply due to blockages in the body of energy. This can happen either through external trauma or it can be internal trauma like our doing what Wilhelm Reich called armoring. We're then suppressing the movement of energy because we're trying to suppress the feeling of the trauma. Now, when you are able to cope with it, it needs to let it move. You need to let it out.
