Tolkien's Sub Creative Art Is the Making or Glimpsing of Other Worlds
Tolkien describes a two step process where there is imagination, or the arising of images from the imagination. But there needs to be something else, and he calls this art. And I really see that as the emergence of images through the imagination, and then the conscious shaping of it by the skilled human artist or author. That's what Tolkien calls fantasy.
