mc carthy imbeds this symbol, this iconic and perhaps ironic pop culture symbol. It could be a war hole like comment on our time and the efemerality of our material pop culture. Or it could be an imploration to relish what we have to day. In fact, i think it is. And the road is an extreme thought experiment and a very extreme demonstration of speculative fiction.
