The First Immigrants to the United States

The first significant immigration of non-British people to the United States happened in the wake of the failed revolutions of 1848. America at the time of the revolution was about 85% British, if not higher. And it's not that we didn't have immigrants or immigration, but it was all much more, it was essentially a British outpost here.
