There's no reason to need to log into your account to check that a battery replacement has worked. You know, it's not much different than letting a locksmith work on the door to your house. Hardly any shops, if any, are asking for passwords or they don't need passwords specifically. Whoever you hand your computer to is going to be able to root through it.
