Ethan Zuckerman: The Bank of Japan is raising its key policy rate. He says investors are excited, or at the very least interested. There's a question of will higher rates cause Japanese domestic investors to bring back money they've invested elsewhere in the world and flow into the Japanese stock market. "There's a catalyst for things changing in Japanese markets," he says.

The Bank of Japan announced that it’s going to allow bonds to rise more freely, and China’s politburo has signalled several target measures meant to boost the country’s economy. Plus, the FT’s Attracta Mooney explains how more frequent heat waves will impact several different industries and the economy as a whole.
