Virtual Reality in Japanese

In Japanese there's a few different ways it's been translated. There's the castle which is more literally kind of imaginary space. Someone like Susan Mittachi was very against that translation. So when you translate virtual reality as kasou gengitsu, gengitsu is just reality. To me it feels kind of like baggage but it loses that context.
