Is There a Time Gap Between Black History and the Civil Rights Movement?

When we don't know about our history we're like so much more disempowered to be able to create change. So I've even found like watching the small act series that came out on BBC which is a series of films about like British Caribbean stories and they were directed by Stephen Queen. It seems incredible that there's been such a big time lapse between these things happening and us accessing the information about them as you say very deliberately.
