What the Purpose of Education Is?
i think part of it is difficult for me because it sort of depends on what you want or what your role in the system is. i personally lean towards thinking that education should be more about creating healthy, flourishing, well rounded individuals. There's lots of perverse incentives that arise with those overly fine grained approaches. We just kind of continue to do the system that we are currently working with,. even if that leads to some weird, arbitrary cut offs and all sorts of weird behaviours amongt students.
